Semi - Final and Finals including "One night in Buenos Aires" Tango Show

The semi-finals and finals of the 2007 Australian Tango Championship will be held on Easter Sunday 8 April at The Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House, Semi finals from 5pm - 7pm. Finals and spectacular Tango Show 8pm to 10pm.

James Valentine, ABC radio and Channel 7 personality, will be our Master of Ceremonies for both the Semi-Finals and the Finals and Show.

The first half of the event will include the semi-finals and will run from 5 pm to 7 pm. There will be an interval of approximately one hour during which contestants and the audience will be able to purchase refreshments from the Opera House bar area.

The second half of the event includes the Finals and a "One night in Buenos Aires" spectacular Tango Show that will take you on a journey through Argentina folkloric past and present.
Starring Gaspar Godoy and Gisela Galeassi, former World Tango Champions, Fabio Robles and Ana Andre, Australian Tango Champions, and tango Grand Masters, Sergio Cortazzo and Soledad Rivero who are internationally recognised for their precision and extraordinary footwork.
Accompanied by the Cuarteto de Tango of Daniel Ruggiero (Bandoneón). José Luis Marina (Violín), Marco Rufo (Contrabass), Matías Lopez Gallese (Piano).

The judges for both the semi-finals and the finals will be Soledad Rivera and Sergio Cortazzo, from Buenos Aires and Fabio Robles, the winner of the Stage Section of the Australian Tango Championships, 2006 and 2005.

Spectator tickets cost $65 each and will be available for purchase from the Opera House box office from 24 February 2007
